Services available from AEC cover the entire range of project engineering, planning, design and implementation. Initial Planning Phase Services

Concept Analysis - Evaluate requirements for compliance and client aims. Determine cost options and liaise with project team to develop engineering design, scope, budget and parameters.

Cost Planning - Initial budget cost estimating, expenditure planning and analysis of most cost-effective contract, tender and delivery method.

Concept Design - Analyse concepts to ensure that design will serve the client's purpose from operating and maintenance as well as capital cost perspectives. Prepare preliminary design sketch drawings allowing architectural co-ordination, plant space design, feasibility and cost checking.

Authority Approvals - Prepare and submit documentation for compliance and service approvals. Fire systems, smoke control, electrical supply, sewer, storm water, ventilation, waste control etc. Liaise with authorities to obtain most economical approvals, fees and tariffs.

Design Phase Services

Design / Construct - Prepare design brief and sketches for contractor tender. Manage construction project. This option may be suitable for projects where the detailed design requirements are within the capabilities of contractors. It should depend on the economies of targeting large or smaller contractors.

Detailed Design - Prepare design drawings and specifications. This work is performed in co-ordination with the client, and other design team members, and reviewed at each stage to ensure designs meet parameters of performance and budget. Final contract tender documents are prepared and quality checked before tender issue.

Design Advice - For smaller projects, AEC may provide only general engineering advice and capacity data.

Tender Phase Services

Tender Management - On behalf of the client, invite tenders, issue documents, resolve queries, receive tenders. Tender invitations are issued in conjunction with the client on the basis of AEC's knowledge of contractor capacity and capability, and of current market status. Tender negotiations are managed ethically to achieve effective results and best value for money.

Tender Analysis - Thorough analysis of tender prices, plant and equipment offers and offered rates and sums. Preparation of a written report and recommendations to the client.

Contract Documents and Execution - AEC prepares contract documentation and arranges execution by successful tenderers and clients.

Construction Phase

Services can cover all on-site activity from site preparation to commissioning and start-up. Their extent will depend on the project and the clients. AEC can provide complete project management, trade superintendence, site meeting attendance, periodic inspection, cost control, claim certification and detailed testing and commissioning services. We also offer post-construction services such as preparation of as constructed documentation, final compliance certification and preparation and administration of maintenance contracts.
